Teaching Artist Services

Custom residencies, workshops, and events in music, movement, and healing arts for schools, arts organizations, community groups, and events. I'm happy to shape something new for your project.

A teaching artist is a working artist and an educator, drawing from their artistic experienced and personal creative practice to deliver rich arts-based learning .

I bring years of experience teaching and running programs in music, movement, and healing arts, including work with community populations and arts access organizations.

Teaching Artist Experience:

• Program Director and teaching artist, Ethos Music Center, Portland, including the Music Corps and Whole Tones outreach programs. Developed the Whole Tones program.

• Composer teaching artist, Santa Fe Opera's Active Learning Through Opera program

• Faculty member, Albuquerque Academy's Think Summer program, teaching music, composition, and healing arts

• Arts programming for the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Albuquerque, and the UNM Music Prep School

• Artist-in-medicine, University of New Mexico Arts-in-Medicine program, bringing music and mindfulness to patients and staff at UNM Hospital

Each teaching artist project or residency is shaped around your group and your goals. It might look like:

• a multi-week residency in music, movement, or both at a school or community site

• a one-time workshop for a group, a staff gathering, or a community event

• a project that combines disciplines, such as movement and creative writing​

These are only examples. If your project calls for a different approach or a combination, I'm glad to build it with you. Services can be offered in person in Portland or online, and I may be available to travel.
